MDF® warranties

MDF® instruments have been handcrafted in the MDF® artisan tradition since 1971. They are super-duty, high-performance medical tools that meet the toughest requirements of precision and accuracy. Warranty details

Stethoscopes

MDF® stethoscopes with defects in material or craftsmanship will be replaced or repaired without charge for the life of the instrument (excluding the Singularis™ line, which has a two-year warranty). This warranty also includes tubing.

Due to limited quantities of each print, limited-edition stethoscopes and stethoscope tubing may not be replaced with the corresponding design or color. Mprints Collection Stethoscope warranty requests will be fulfilled at the discretion of MDF Instruments.

The use of non-authorized third-party modification services is done at your own discretion and will void the Lifetime Warranty MDF Instruments. MDF Instruments does not guarantee that the third party modifications will meet our requirements, be effective, accurate, or reliable.

Sphygmomanometers

MDF® offers a Lifetime Warranty on aneroid sphygmomanometers and replacement cuffs with defects in material or craftsmanship, to be replaced or repaired without charge. We also offer a lifetime calibration warranty on MDF® Aneroid sphygmomanometers. The calibration warranty does not apply to damage caused by improper handling, accidents, failure to follow operating instructions, or alterations made to the device by third parties. Electronic blood pressure units are covered by a two-year warranty against defects in material or craftsmanship, and a two-year calibration warranty. Calibration warranties do not apply to damage caused by improper handling, accidents, failure to follow operating instructions, or alterations made to the device by third parties.

Reflex Hammers

MDF® reflex hammers with defects in material or craftsmanship will be replaced or repaired without charge for the life of the instrument.

Illumination instruments

MDF penlights are warranted to be free from defects in material or craftsmanship. Penlights with defects in material or craftsmanship will be replaced or repaired without charge as long as the defect is reported within one year of the original purchase. The MDF® 621 LUMiNiX is warranted to be free from defects in material or craftsmanship. LUMiNiXes with defects in material or craftsmanship will be replaced or repaired without charge as long as the defect is reported within two years of the original purchase.

Thermometry

All MDF Instruments thermometers, including the Febris, are qualified for a two-year manufacturer's warranty.

MDF® product warranties are non-transferrable.

Returns

We will gladly accept returns for items covered by the above warranty policies for repairs or replacement. We are unable to refund any import duties/tariffs, original, or return shipping costs for returns. We do not accept returns on stethoscopes that have been engraved.

Non-warranty returns will be subject to a 15% restocking fee. If an RMA (return material authorization) number is not obtained prior to the return, a $5 handling fee will also be applied.

To request an RMA, please email customer.service@MDFinstruments.com and include the following information:

• Original purchase order/reference number
• Customer name
• Reason for the RMA request

Please write the RMA clearly on the outside of the package before returning the item back to MDF. Please include all original packaging and accessories when returning an item. Returns must be shipped within five business days after the RMA is issued. All returns must be received within 10 business days of the RMA being issued.

Limitations and damages

MDF Instruments reserves the right to refuse credit or refund for items not returnable due to health, sanitary, or consumable component issues. The exclusive remedy for any defective product is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective product. MDF Instruments may elect which remedy or combination of remedies to provide at its sole discretion. MDF Instruments shall have a reasonable time after determining that a defective product exists to repair or replace a defective product. 

MDF Instruments’s replacement product under its limited warranty will be manufactured from new and serviceable used parts. MDF Instruments’ warranties apply to repaired or replaced products for the balance of the applicable period of the original warranty, or for ninety days from the date of shipment of a repaired or replaced product, whichever is longer. 

MDF Instruments’s entire liability for any defective product shall in no event exceed the purchase price for the defective product. This limitation applies even if MDF Instruments cannot or does not repair or replace any defective product and the exclusive remedy fails its essential purpose. MDF Instruments has no liability for general, consequential, incidental, or special damages. These include lost profits and the cost of the installation or removal of any products, the installation of replacement products, and any inspection, testing, or redesign caused by any defect or by the repair or replacement of products arising from a defect in any product.

If MDF Instruments determines to replacement a product for any reason, including warranties, the replacement product will be sent to the shipping address on the original order or location of purchase.  MDF Instruments will not be responsible for shipping costs to replace any item in another location or country other than original purchase location.  In the United States, some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the limitations above may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

MDF® Free-Parts-For-Life Program & Lifetime Warranty

Limitations and damages

Free-Parts-For-Life and Lifetime Warranty shipments will be sent to the shipping address on the original order or location of purchase.  If shipping country is different than the distribution center of the product, the replacement shipment will be sent within the country of the distribution center.  MDF Instruments will not be responsible to replace any item that was received using a third party shipping company to import into a country that does not have a distribution center containing that item.  MDF Instruments will not be responsible for shipping costs to replace any item in another location or country other than the original location.  MDF Instruments will not be responsible for any cost of shipping or import fees that exceeds the cost of the item.
